love your planter boxes. What would you recommend for a very small yard. We love in a townhouse with little space but would love to grow vegetables using a planter box as I do not want to use the existing soil. Thanks!

Consider adding raised beds. Many edibles are low-to-the-ground plants. That’s fine for a farm, but designwise it can be a bit boring for a home landscape. Raised beds add some design interest to a space and make

I love this cottage guest room. Were there any setback issues with the property line? Maybe it was small enough to categorize as a shed? I'd love to know because this would be great for us too and we live close to SF in Marin County. Thanks!
Nice layout. I really like that the designer though out the consequence of what the soil would do to fence if it would touch it. By providing a space and a board the dirt / compost will have a less likely chance to encourage rot there. If it has been done, or not a liner could be attached to the
the inner timbers to prolong the life of the raised beds. Again nice work and design. -KP http://www.houzz.com/pro/rollingplanter http://www.rollingplanter.com

2. Add a green roof. A green roof, which is basically a giant raised-bed garden placed atop a roof, can help cool the air, insulate the interior of your home, and even provide extra room to garden in urban areas where space is at a premium. Sound like a lot of trouble? You can install

good design idea for the small space between driveway and front stoop. eye candy for walking to front door as well
This rooftop garden actually blends the home into the landscape, leaving the visitor to wonder...
both the landscape and architecture of the site and design is a unique aspect of this project. Because of the necessary terracing, the roof of the lower cabin (the yoga studio), is the initial site experience. The green roof is really the curb appeal of the property — the first facade of the design. Hook
