Note the joint pattern, which the architects have dutifully aligned with the window mullion. These joints are critical parts of the story of concrete. As it cures, concrete shrinks and cracks, so care must be taken to control the location of that cracking. These so-called “control joints”
wood-framed systems. The result can be floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glazing that dematerializes the wall and, therefore, the overall mass of the home. The name, not surprisingly, comes from the fact that most of these types of systems are used for storefronts, where maximizing the glazed area is important

Wow! Are the clear story windows open? If so how? Otherwise are they at an angle? They sure draw your eyes up!
Hi Sasha - Actually there is no stain on these boards -- just a clear finish. That is one of the wonderful things about Douglas Fir -- it looks like this on its own. Note -- all the low wood --on the cabinets is mahogany, also clear finish
I like the windows down the spine or central walkway of the great room. In our case clear story. These look at an angle and maybe even open? Automatic?

Pixar, the stories that resonate are those that include a journey, a traveling from point A to point B. Can our home do this as well? Can our home tell us about a journey from bedroom to kitchen? Can our home tell us what season it is by the way the light falls on the floor? Can our home mark the passage
