Where can I buy these windows?
Are these windows built from scratch (custom frame, glass cut to size)? This is exactly what I need to add some light for a window-less bedroom in my condo.
So these are what we refer to as "direct set" transoms. That is, the glass is set directly into the jamb as New Urban Home Builders explained. The advantage of this setup is that you get more glass than a standard transom (which has a stile and rail perimeter). You can make them onsite
in a "direct set" configuration. As shown they are $155 each including the jamb. You can see it here: http://goo.gl/eDlwml. You can also get our transoms in a variety of glass like seeded, antique or wavy.

where did you get the transom?
You can get this transom from us. It is model TR-1. Please note that in this example the "stile" width (left and right sides of the transom) have been increased beyond the normal 1-3/4". I am guessing that each stile is 4" or so. We can do this at no charge by adding a special instruction to your

Small glass windows above the opening
I like the use of transom windows both exterior and interior. Great way to share light throughout.
1. Simple geometryWooden frames divide this glass transom into rectangular sections. Here, the transom visually blends with other geometric architectural forms in the house, including the horizontal backs of the dining room chairs

What type of glass is in transoms?
Is the glass used in the transom windows clear or obscured in some way? I'd like to use glass in ours (building a custom home) but we are afraid they will show dust/dirt
Hi, I would like to know the trim dimensions for doors, windows, and baseboards? It's so simple and pretty. Is it painted poplar? Thank you.
This glass is clear glass. Don't know what to suggest other than dusting the windows when the house gets cleaned. Good luck with your project.

Transom windows cool (and cooling!) idea for our raised ceiling at back of dining, after raising floor level
This hallway uses transom windows to cool the house. Hammer is a big proponent of the benefits of these windows, and even raised the roof here to accommodate them. "We use these in a lot of our projects," Hammer says. "They open up all the way and allow the hot air to flow out of the house, keeping it
it well-ventilated and very cool." Wondering how to get those windows open without stilts? There is a pole system that makes it easy, and an electronic option is available as well (though it will cost you).
