multiple coats of clear gloss of your choice. The trick is to find a gloss that does not "amber" over time. All-told, I beleive there were 9 coats of paint and clear to achieve the final glossy-white result. Pure white without the clear over-coats will not give you the same color effect. As always, do samples
Choosing a finish. "When it comes to finish, beauty is in the eye of the beholder," says Watson. However, you can also choose a finish based on the room's purpose. Flat finishes — including matte and eggshell — are

I used a bright wallpaper, from Scalamandre, and high gloss paint for this entrance hall. I wanted to create a bright, reflective look to make use of the natural daylight. Antique carpets worked really well with the client's art collection. I kept the stairs uncarpeted to give the hall a more formal
this is exactly how my house is set up except there are no walls to the right. The hardwood color is the same. I want to change the staircase I was thinking of painting the risers white, leave the step part wood and painting the handrail black. Is that what you have done here
beautiful. Choose a mid-tone or dark color. It will hide the traffic and eliminate the need for the mat at the bottom of the stairs. I would LOVE to see you paint the stairs. They're narrow. I think a runner, though still a possibility, would be better than what you've got now, but paint would be awesome

Questions9
The trim looks beautiful, and goes great with that color. I'd like to put it in the house we are buying. Could you tell me what you finished the trim with?
What is the paint color used on the walls?
quite like it. I am hoping you can tell me who the manufacturer is or where it came from. Or the interior designer. Thank you so much. Your homes are lovely Kindly, Barbara Davis
Could you identify the paint color used? Thanks
Does trim, baseboards, etc., all need to be painted the same color?
you make these decisions with intention. Pick a rule and stick with it. Choose colors that complement each other, and go with it. I have seen all trim done the same way, or baseboards painted one color and doorways painted another. The outcome will be successful if it looks like you clearly chose the colors

created using regular paint with a high gloss finish, or with a modern lacquer that combines high gloss paint with water-based varnish. High gloss paint creates a reflective surface and is highly durable. But be warned — it will show every imperfection in your walls.
