I would like to know how wide the halls would need to be for this. I can't tell from the photo, but it looks like it is more than 4 feet (including bookcase depth).

I would add castor wheel(s) on the bottom of bookcase for durability. I can't imagine any hinges capable of supporting such a weight for an infinite amount of time
