Questions4
I'm guessing cubbies are between 14" and 15" wide, I don't remember for sure the exact dimension. That opening from Mud Room into Kitchen is approximately 42" to 48" wide.
Nice cubbies. Would not need two open shelves above. I like how the bench comes out from the cubby so that you can sit down
like the desk with shelves above

Questions3
We just found out that an upstairs wall we want to open is made of 6" cement - This is an 80's home with angled ceiling. What is your opinion if we open it but we leave an outside frame like this? I'd like to use this concept to mount an open fireplace. Thank you -

I like how this stairway feels open with the railing. My husband doesn't like the railing so we need to come up with a compromise.

I love the open space and the charm... the door, floor and molding give the space an aged classic appeal, yet its open , and airy
Interior designer Renee O'Leary wanted the home to feel traditional but have a cheerful, open, colorful and laid-back vibe that would reflect its farmhouse roots. Earthy tones, exposed woods and large windows in every room help achieve this look. Black and white marble floors give the entry a splash
