awesome for entertaining - keeps everyone feeling together! Btw, the renovators (2 owners before us) also removed the same wall on the other side of the stairs, so it's very open floor plan. I enjoy it, who cares if it's true to the period? Times change!
underside of stairs - finished out with drywall along the angle of the stairs

Can you please provide me with the stair color -thanks
What color was used on the stair rail?
Valerie, I am fascinated with the color you used on the stairs and trim. I know you said it is a darker version of Barren Plain. At Ben Moore they offer 10,25 or 50% darker. Can you recall how much darker you had them make the original color?
I went to buy Barren plain Benjamin Moore and the color looked whitish like the walls. Do you know what color you used on the stair way?

I am thinking of doing this to my stairs. Where does the carpet come together? Trying to figure out the best spot for the seam.
Wall trim would be great on the wall with the stairs.
Elegant. See through stairs, nice woodwork on stair casing, nice hallway
Worst case wrap the stair and do not insert riser?
I don't really like the way the wrap around runner on the open stairs looks from below.
The angle of this photo allows you to see that the wrapped stair treads look good even from below.
