A lot of good design comes from achieving appropriate scale and proportion in a space. The 13" version would definitely be the appropriate scale for your ceiling space. The 9" would feel too mini. Thanks!

Max the glass The best way to open up a small space is to pull in as much natural light as possible. Could you add more glazing to your hallway, either in the front door or by creating side panels? This space has been left free of any furniture for a clear view to the outdoors.
