Are those hopper windows? How are they opened and closed?
High windows to get natural light in
A horizontal band of transom windows set high up in the wall provides privacy while forcing the view upward. This is an great way to capture light and a view when what's directly outside isn't something you really want to look at.

Transom over French doors into office?
Craftsman transom has thick header, extends past vertical trim.
With a thicker head-trim piece overhanging the outside edges of the side casings, this transom window looks classically Craftsman.

for you. It utilizes each wall to the maximum with a large, U-Shaped desk. Note how one wall has storage, one has inspiration boards, and one has windows. This is a great way to organize this guestroom-sized space.

What is the length of the transom? Thank you
Looking at the transom window, I am pretty certain that the opening is 6 feet wide -- since the transom has six lights. This transom is almost identical to our Traditional model TR-1-6012 made 9 or 10" high. It is not a full 12' high. Hope this helps!

Nice rendition of a transom window inside
Like the idea of an interior window in the upstairs bedroom over the garage. It would let light in from the windows over the stairs.
Another creative application of the sliver window can be seen here on the interior wall of an office space that borrows light from an adjacent room. Placing the window high in the wall moves it out of the way of the workspace, minimizing distractions while conferring all of the advantages of natural
