Love this desk integrated into the stairs to loft!
expandable desk is a good idea for under the loft bed....
of its rungs supports the desk. A lower portion of the desk swings out for more workspace. When it's no longer needed, the extension can tuck back under the upper portion (and become a great place to store a laptop or keyboard). Other rungs in the ladder were extended to create built-in bookshelves.

Thanks for the comment. Here's a section through a typical tread. The initial frame of the stairs were built off-site (stringers and treads). The stud walls on either side were sculpted to accept the embedded stringers. A second laminte tread
