What is a good idea on covering a front door to have privacy?
installed the Douglas Fir on top with the same technique as one would install a floor (end nails and glue). The front edge was a little more difficult because we mitred the boards on the top and the front together so there would be no seams. It's held up extremely well. Hope this helps.
Do you remember the standard and bracket type from racks? Is that the C-type standard? Is it sturdy enough to load up the shelving with books? Looks great.
cabinets on the right are from CabParts. They sell the boxes, doors, hardware, and you put them together yourself. Ikea is a good option for a flat front cabinet too. The shelves are custom, but the hardware holding them up is made by Rakks. They'e the "C" profile standard and typical Rakks shelving bracket

Wow that is a loaded question depending on the style of the space and existing colors in the space. I would say one cant go wrong with a great turquoise blue or lime green
things. In regards to these doors shown in this picture they appear to float as they do not have the traditional track system where they slide in front of one another, yet there are several panels. This configuration allows a person to open the doors fully and tuck them away nicely on each side opening
