Bar-Do this type of shelving above the bar top so there is glass and bottle storage without having to attach anything to the window wall and it will let in the light of the window too. The wood shelves can be thinner and not so beat up, those look to be about 2'' or so.

Railroad step to window reading nook - classy bookcases

love this desk. I have a area under a window in my sun room that this would be perfect. I have ideas now as to what can be done. Needs to be longer than the average desk and fit under the banks of windows.
