How was the fabric attached to the shade? I thought about doing this to my shades to add privacy.
the shade is custom sewn - it is not a shade with fabric attached. The fabric is the shade
floor color to work with the yellow of the maple though. Also-- I warned my client in advance-- dark floors show EVERYTHING! Wet footprints that have dried (think dogs), every piece of lint and dust. She still loves them though.

paint and sanding with a fine grit sandpaper in between each coat. I don't like polyurethane because it changes the color even when the can says it dries clear. I have done the above technique with wood stain with great results. Good luck!
