Artist's studio... It started with a rug.
If I was an artist, I would like to work here! The concrete looks very cool, but might be a tad cold?
Ballantyne describes himself as a monk at heart. A large easel sits in the middle of his minimalist studio. There are marks on the walls and floor showing vanishing points and lines from his perspective drawings.

..just keeping it high enough so that pipes don't freeze when I am not. since this is a partial two story space that part not pictured, the upper studio does stay warmer because heat rises....you may want to consider a fan as well in a double height structure such as this. Hope this helps!

In this artist’s studio, the architects have wonderfully illustrated the story of concrete and married it with the

The cast-concrete building is like a monolithic mass that is broken down in scale through the texture; the shadows accentuate it here. Art pieces waiting to be finished, or as Davidson puts it, '"waiting to speak to me," hang across the back wall in her studio. Much of her work is influenced by her passion for women's issues; the word "she" can be found tucked around the house. When architect Schreiber started the project, he dug down
