motorized operator, so you intuitively understand how heavy they are, but also because you see the thickness of the wall upon opening. Very rarely does one have this sense with static wall elements. Pivoting doors this large make equally large statements about connecting indoors and out.
Pivoting Panels, Doors and WallsThese massive oversize panels match the scale of the view beyond. Eight feet wide and 16 feet tall, they are opened via a geared, motorized mechanism, similar to an overhead door operator. The mass and scale of these panels are interesting counterpoints to the openness
Who supplied the glass for this walkway?
yes i think there are glass panels, the spce in between panels are spaced so near. I dont believe the architect is that irresponsible :)
Any local glass company can supply the appropriate thickness of glass.
The glass and wood stair case and bridge
How the stairs are laying flat with the glass
At bridge level, it's apparent the glass walkway adds some excitement — or vertigo — to the act of moving up or down a level.
Beyond the stairs, a mezzanine-level glass bridge connects to a second staircase up to the master suite. This long landing provides
provides a unique experience of the space between the two floors. "It's like you're floating as you walk across the glass," describes Ehrlich.

how do i Build a glass cube in the middle of a studio ,
i have currently started to rip out a unit which i want to build a glass wall which will create a cube off two walls, i want the glass to disappear into the ceiling and floor, my ceiling is like this
Frosted wall in front of staircase
glass staircase, exposed wood rafters, light brick walls
the tile on the walls, perhaps on the stair wall
Glass siding on stairs, black metal stringer

materials, transparency etc. — while the people add a sense of scale and lead our eye in a certain direction. If we follow the woman moving down this stair with clear glass guardrails, we end up in the kitchen or can continue down another flight to a lower level.
What is the thickness of the stair tread? Is there steel or other reinforcement running from carriage to wall?
what is the material and structure of this glass floor? I assume it is safe but how will it hold up? Really like it! Worried about scratches from dog paws and

structure is custom, but the glass floor itself is relatively common. The glass has a " frit " on it to make it non slip. more scratch resistant ( because they aren't as visible ) , and also not as transparent.

the industrial lookGlass isn’t always about the sleek and modern. Here, a set of vintage windows is used as a divider and works more of an industrial look that suits the bare-brick wall – a great idea in a large, open-plan space such as this loft. Liked this? wood on the ceiling, but you know, these things were done way back before contact cement or double-sided tape were invented. There are also embossed wall coverings that would mimic the look of tin tiles. Lots of ways you can get a ceiling to look like this if you are not lucky enough to live in a warehouse

The walls of this formal dining room have all been paneled and painted a crisp white to set off the stark gray used on the upper part of the walls, above the paneling. Ceilings are coffered and a dramatic large pendant lamp is placed centered in the paneled ceiling. A silk light grey rug sits proud under

your question on the table. This is a one of a kind 12' long table made from wide plank reclaimed timbers and the base is made from train track cart moving wheels. The table weighs about 2,000 pounds and was about $15,000 with installation. Sometimes you can find similar items in some industrial antique
