Nice open look for these stairs - and good use of storage!
Those open stairs are illegal in NJ and PA, and I'm assuming other states as well. I know because I took this to my architect and he said "no go". Nice idea but not up to code. The open area below the treads allows for a small child to

It's an interesting way to deal with an open ceiling.
