By storage shelf, do you mean the credenza under the TV, or the table in the foreground? Either way, they were both custom designed and built for the project.

Good storage idea for tubs of pens
educe waste: Kid's play areas and desks are a primary spot for wasting supplies. Try organizing crafts, writing utensils, and small school supplies in easy to find containers. The easier it is to put things back, the less likely the kids will lose them. That saves money and needless new supplies.

I am using your son's room as inspiration for my son's. I have that expedite unit and can't find any orange bins to fit. I'm ordering the wallpaper from Walnut Wallper. Just need to find some orange accessories and a duvet cover:) Love the room!!
orange storage bins, however I found these that are cute. They are 10.5 x 10.5 inches. Good luck! http://www.houzz.com/photos/6673557/Bold-Solid-Orange-Folding-Storage-Bin-modern-kids-products

Use flat bins or baskets to store puzzles and books under the bed or crib.Stuff a beanbag chair or Moroccan leather pouf with dress-up clothes.Utilize a storage ottoman or steamer trunk as toy storage and table in one.
buy more storage, I urge you to give this age-old trick a try. Put about a third of your child's toys out on display, then pack the rest away in bins and boxes. That may sound like a lot to put away, but if you give it a go I think you'll find cleanup time much easier. Plus, when it's time to rotate toys
