love the map for the window shade
The kitchen is wide open to the dining area. A vintage school map depicting the territories of Native American tribes serves as an eclectic window covering. The chandelier is an inexpensive brass fixture that the owners spray painted white.

Please tell me what these window coverings are.
Is there anyone who can answer the question on who makes the window shades? Love them too so trying again.
about the roman or woven shades and he said the same thing. What is the "2/3rds Rule"? and what if the best part of your "view" is the top of the window (conversely, the part you don't want to see is now the lower 2/3rds?) The shades with top-down,bottom-up and all the strings don't work for me. Thanks
I forget the exact dimensions, it was custom to fit under the windows so I would say roughly 7-9 feet.
If you leave them 1/3 down, it creates a 'valance' of its own and offers a finished edge to the window.

light out during hotter months. The daylight (and associated heat gain) from east- and west-facing windows is the toughest to control but can be counteracted with exterior vegetation or window coverings.
doesn't love a gorgeous light-filled space?North- and south-facing windows are optimal for bringing in natural light. Northern light is softer and unaccompanied by glare or direct light (which brings with it heat). South-facing windows can introduce direct light, but that light is easy to control with

for four adults and four children if scaled back to 17-18' x 14'? We plan to have the kitchen to the front of the house at the east facing corner (windows to both northeast and east) off the entrance (where you have the sofa in the picture) and with an opening to dining room (to the right of the photo)
so everything would looks right... - ANY IDEA?... also, on the 10" side, we dont planning to put any top cabinets and all this wall will be a big window to the backyard. - Should we add some cabinets on the sides? even if the ceiling is low?... Thank you!!! Pablo.
natural light in the most important rooms of the house, such as the living room, the kitchen and the master bedroom. Make sure you open every window covering and even doors to let more light in. Don't use a flash if you don't have to — it will distort colors and appear harsh.
