Should I move my kitchen to the living room, making it an open concept kitchen connected to the dining room? I have read about pros and cons of open concept. But since I am working on a major Reno to my 1980s house, I want to have a bigger and more inviting kitchen

Even I think that a range hood is critical to a kitchen. Grease all over everything is not my idea of a good time. This spectacularly appropriate and very high-end hood, custom made by Archive Designs, totally fits the aesthetic of a cottage kitchen

Being a fabricator of customer window treatments, my experience would say this treatment is mounted on an arched board or some other sub-structure. There is a slim possibility it's an arched rod.
