about the shelf between the stove top and hood. I understand that it is part of the Viking. Is it a full shelf, or an open grate? I'm wondering if the air flows through it to the hood, or around it.
It is the twenty inch riser with shelf. The shelf isn't very deep and the hood is quite a bit deeper, so the air flows around it.
Wide pull out drawers by range would work for us under our stovetop. top one for cooks tools and bottom two for pots and pans.
