sill has a rebate in it of about 20mm, so the bench outside the window is a bit lower than the one inside. Any rain that hits the glass will therefore drain outside. I love your carrara marble countertops. We want to use honed carrara in our new kitchen. I've heard that water leaves permanent spots on it. Have you noticed that? I'm hoping that rumor isn't true!
you! The flooring is 4" oak planks, #2, with 4 coats of water based poly. We went with the #2 (actually the third most "desirable" grade) intentionally so that we would have the variation in color and the natural knots for visual interest. The water-based poly gives the floor a lighter, whiter look. I didn't
We have not had an issue with water. There are a few etchings from citrus, but it would certainly not deter me from using Carrara again.
On the floor? White oak, #2 (not select or #1 because we wanted the variation in boards and knots) with three coats of water based poly.

Would love to know the brand of water based poly you used. Also, was a sealer applied first? If so, which one? Thanks.

salvaged wood.Gonzalez, a self-proclaimed “water nerd,” also installed a reverse-osmosis water filter in the kitchen sink (in addition to a whole-house water filter that reduces chlorine, microbial pathogens and other contaminants). “We hardly ever buy bottled water,” she says.
