The inside of the hood is typically an "insert", i.e. a fully-functional range hood without the outer casing, designed to be built into such an enclosure. Yes there is, you can see the "power pack" inside the hood enclosure. I don't think you'd want a gas range like this one without proper ventilation. Cheers,
