Keep in mind that if you have a really tight construction envelope, you might want to consider providing make-up air at the unit. We have a fan on a switch that provides outside air to the cabinet below the cooktop so the fan vent does not depressurize the house.

The tile in the backsplash behind the stovetop...are those 1X3 ceramics laid herringbone? ALso the pencil around the stovetop backsplash, is it a tapered? And the wall tile is that a 2x6 ceramic or a 3x 6?

seen it in model kitchens (in showrooms) and I like the idea of it. Although the showoom i saw it in had it placed behind the stove. I don't think that's the best idea as you don't want to be reaching across a hot stove to grab your spices, etc.. That's just asking for trouble.
