“We currently have a similar color cabinets. The house was built in 1992 and the kitchen is very dated. The walls are knotty pine and the floor is wood. Can I paint the cabinets a darker color?”

“paint the cabinets... I had them spray lacquered inside and out (in place) by a furniture refinishing company. It was cheap. Cleaning 60+ years of grime would have been impossible. Also cabinets were built in place. You could not have removed them as 1 cabinet was 70" long.”

But to answer your question, yes, you can paint cabinets. They will require good quality hard waring paint and mostly your time and patience. All the cabinets will need to be removed”
