I selected this quartzite, but might not be able to afford it everywhere, so I think I will put it on the island and then select a dark perimeter counter. What perimeter counter did you use?
Calcutta Quartzite, I think this is harder than marble? Great

The Island counter top is Calcutta Quartzite (laid on horizontal, selected with minimal grain) and the Perimeter counter top is Absolute Black Granite (In Honed Finish)
I just saw on another comment the builder said it was Calcutta Quartzite.
The island is Calcutta Quartzite (laid on horizontal, selected with minimal graining) and the perimeter is Absolute Black honed granite.

Calcutta Quartzite - mostly gray / white, although being a natural stone, the pattern and colors vary. You will have to go view slabs to get the exact look and color if you are super picky

How is the edge of th quartzite counter finished?

Our stone supplier here in the US considers this stone to be a quartzite. In the US I have seen it called Luce di Luna, White Moon, and Quartzite Bianca. Quartzite is a bit less porous than a marble, and therefore better suited to use in a kitchen. Sealing it well
The stone countertop is a Quartzite known as Luce di Luna.
It is hard to tell from a photo. The cabinets are actually a grayish beige that we thought worked will with both the quartzite and the walnut frame.
I've had my Quartzite Bianca in my kitchen for 3 years now - no etching or stains at all.
