Saratoga Creek House
Good question- we didn't think so and hence the white portland. You are probably best asking your sub / installer.
love the curve theme. also love how the spaces are defined. seems like quirkiness is taken very seriously.
I like the different floor colors to define the Seperated rooms
love the blue walls (though I would use different color), how it goes from floor to wall... your eye just travels on down the "road"!
curved line, reinforcing its role as a datum from which the house is organized.More:Ideas for Defining Spaces With Level ChangesFraming Design: Structural Expression in SteelDesign Details: How to Show Off Your Curves

Expansive Kitchen
Hi Garrison, I was wondering if these are all custom cabinets or not? If not, what brand and style are they? I've been looking at photos of kitchens for ideas for a month and your design is my favorite. Thanks for posting. Texie
Where did you get your blinds and what is the color/name of them?
Your kitchen is everything I wish mine could be. I tried copying the look on a budget. It will never compare to yours.
Building a home with open concept floor plan. I absolutely love your kitchen!! If this

Bulter's Pantry with German Silver Sink
what are the style/colors of the tiles on the floor?
This is terrifc...are the cabinets custom? if not, who are they by? Thanks for your help!
The paint is enamel. Thank you for your interest in our work.
The sink is original to the home (from the 1920's). It is German Silver and the space was designed around the sink. Thank you for your interest in our work!
That sink looks like one you see in a restaraunt. A supply store may have one or make one to your with a butcher block inset.
is a porcelain tile that has been discontinued but you can probably find something similar at a tile shop. It is charcoal and ivory. Thank you for your interest in our work!
Shaker style cabinet. Like the valance too.

Where did you get your chair cushions?
If your question is Are they compatible, does it work when you look at it. They are both natural mediums. If the look balanced, that is, one does not overpower the other, then you have made your decision. Do you have high ceilings? or does the the ceiling appear heavy in your eyes. why not look at
at it, or live with it, for some time. Delay your decision until you recognize your own reaction. If the beams are heavy looking or darkens your room, paint them or part of the ceiling treatment white. Gloss white paint appears lifting due to its reflective qualities.
open shelve concept. Not your style kitchen BUT could be modern with your cabinet choice
I like this curio cabinet style shelving to define the space for each shelving unit.

An island seating area is bordered with cheerful red-orange tile. This defines the island space and coordinates with the red marble counters and backsplash, giving the kitchen a cohesive look.

What make is the microwave? Is it a drawer style?
Is it best to have your cabinets lighter than your wall paint color?
They can be repainted and repaired more easily and you often have more color and door style choices. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Wee&pwst=1&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&defl=en&q=define:Thermofoil&sa=X&ei=ALJQTYn1BIO5tgf69IX0CQ&ved=0CBcQkAE
plan your kitchen around the thought of making it look different than those you have seen before. Be brave.....do so,etching wonderfully different in color, textures and tones.
Yup, a drawer style microwave - thanks for pointing out this great kitchen! I would have assumed it was a warming drawer. It is a dacor Millennia 30" or 24" Microwave
