Santa Fe Cottage Kitchen
In a Santa Fe historic neighborhood this small kitchen was designed with natural lighting, herb garden window, reclaimed barn wood shelving with workable space and a soft color palette. Photo by: Laurie Allegretti
I would love to know what color paint you used on the walls I have been searching for a similar color and if you could tell me the color and make of the countertop. Thank you, beautiful job.
herb garden in window, the shelf is a cool idea

Simple lines. Open shelving. Places for plants/herbs.
shelves as well as the herbs in the window.
Plant culinary herbs within arm's reach. The bountiful produce of summer begs to be paired with fresh herbs. Make it easy on yourself (and save a few bucks — fresh herbs are expensive) by filling your kitchen window with pots of your favorites.

Neat kitchen and the way they dry the herbs
The kitchen has hand-troweled plaster walls treated with a smoked finish to make them look aged. Towle admired the cabinet color in Architectural Digest and replicated it here, applying a wash and a striated finish.Towle picks herbs and hangs them from the ceiling to dry; when the room heats up, a wonderful

Hi, I was wondering what was used on the floor, is it tile? I'm re-doing my open plan kitchen/living room and I'm looking for wood alternatives. Thank you,
I like the idea of having plants (herbs) in the middle of the table like this
Very interesting cabinets, I like the plants in the middle - perfect for a little herb garden

What color and brand is the paint used on the walls and what type o f wood and stain is used on the floors?
It looks like the kitchen was extended a few feet into another room and walled off. Is the arch original or was it added? And are those cinder blocks or tile?
Greetings! To create the aged texture on the walls, pigment was added to the plaster and applied directly to the walls. The floors are reclaimed oak with an oil finish.
YES. Perfect use of that antique-style stove. Also love the hanging dried herbs.

The wooden drawer pulls -- who makes them and where can they be found?? They tie in so well with the wall.
What is the backsplash and wall made of?
i don't really know except that i know i could never live with the ones pictured. it's too dangerous if a person is accident prone, arthritic, or takes blood thinners. I'm not trying to be dramatic, just practical
If you scroll farther down this page it shows this picture was used in another ideabook about using plywood. Appears the walls and backsplash are sealed plywood. If you like the look check out that ideabook!
not shelving per se but extra long magnetic strip for spices/herbs
what about a wood wall between the kitchen and living room?
Big magnetic wall for spices and utensils?
