i love this...perfect solution for the dogs beds that take up space on my living room floor. so much more attractive too!!
The cabinetry is custom built for this project. Unfortunately only you know if your dogs will like a bed or not, maybe fill it with treats at first to get them used to the idea. Good luck!

stairs vs ladders. Everything I've seen seems to indicate that if the space is "inhabitable"(coded by size ) then it must have stairs not ladder. How do you get around this??

The ladder goes up to a sleeping loft, the downstairs is a living room.
How do you like the ladder vs stairs? We are trying to decide if we should make living room larger and put in ladder rather than stairs.

this adorable remodel. Once an old garage set on a great lot, this space became a usable, workable minihouse — complete with kitchen, patio, lofted bed and bathroom — thanks to de la Vega's ingenuity, vintage finds and artistic style.See more of this home

Unexpected!!! Makes a great point of conversation for guests and a free gallery to admire! I love the fact that when you are at the living area the images shows as if a piece of art hanging from the wall through that window! The entire kitchen black not my thing but it is unique!
When I first saw this, I wondered if this was some sort of loft convent, inhabited by a modern-day Maria von Trapp and seven singing children.

I like the idea of a kitchen bed
Bench/bed. Too big but would work with 30" mattresses

Could do a banquette at the end of the kitchen that is twin bed length
Guest bed. Although you would probably not want this in a kitchen, a banquette can double as a guest bed, if it’s deep enough. This is quite easy to accomplish if you build a platform and use twin-size mattresses
