Where can I find a knife block to hang on a kitchen rail like this?
Special plastic laminate with stainless steeel edge banding made by Bulthaup, it was part of the kitchen system.
That looks like laminate or solid surface material with a stainless edge.

magnetic strip for many years. It would be really hard to hurt oneself! On the other hand, imagine the bacteria that lurk in the narrow, damp slot of a knife block!
I prefer knife blocks - but that's only because I don't have enough drawers to devote one to be fitted out just to handle them.
thinners. I'm not trying to be dramatic, just practical. the other thing is that if they are out in the open, they won't stay very clean. i prefer a knife block or a drawer that is specific for storing knives.

Magnetic knife rack on wall over kitchen counter
Move hazardous objects away from counter edges. Consider installing a magnetic strip like the one pictured here to store knives out of reach. Many babyproofing measures involve better home organization
The sink is back to the wall! The counter crew cut the edges of the backsplash to fit around the sink and black caulk with black honed granite really does the trick.

Where did you get the shelf with the containers in them above the knife rack?
Great Kitchen! Would you mind sharing where you got the shelf with the containers above the knife rack? Thank you!!
Looks like a GE electric glass-top range - the glass top is supposed to be easy to clean, but IMO it always appears smudged and the groove around the edge of the glass is nearly impossible to clean.

Is there a rule for granite edges depending on kitchen style?
Would you mind telling me how thick the granite is here? It looks thicker than normal. Did you do a build up? Did you have them miter the edge? It is beautiful!
fast rule but generally more modern spaces get more simple edges while more traditional spaces get more detailed edges.
This is stunning and timeless. I also love the thickness!! As commented, it is beautiful how the pattern shows on the edge as well.
'understanding that counter come in 2cm & 3cm thicknesses. If you miter the edge you can make it thicker/bolder (like pic). And around the sink is only place you'll know if counter is 2 or 3 cm's, I believe.

better to have the pillows for the back, a longer pillow, or just the wall?
This is fabulous! I'd love to know the depth of the bench with those thick back pillows?
I'm building this and want the same look across the back (thick pillows) so I am having a hard
otherwise the benchback would have been way more complicated to build. because of that i made the seat deeper, to allow me to add a thick pillow. it's loose pillows in this case for easy maintenance - it's not expensive to get a new set made for them, and one can change materials with the season. if
the beautiful wood the bench is made out of so i consider the surface as kind of a wood chair type of thing, and simply add some loose storebought pillows... fixed upholstery would be another option, like in a diner booth, but you should keep in mind that you have to select a material that suites your

it is easy enough to clean between the range sides and the counter. Put a folded paper towel ( with just a little Windex) over the edge of a long, thin knife and gently slide from back to front. Any grease or dust will come out. If you do it often, there is really not a lot stuff there anyway

What type of edge is on the island countertop?
other than butcher block. A painted countertop would not hold up well to the daily tasks of a kitchen (spills, cleaners, appliances, the occasional knife). You really want something on your counter that will hold up to all a kitchen has to throw at it. If you want a fun color, I suggest you look at quartz
Hi Jenn, the edge on the countertop was a custom edge detail that we designed, and our stone fabricator produced for us. Many designers specify custom details like this, that the fabr
