Are the floors tile? What is the style name and where could I find them?

This is truly one of the most amazing kitchens ever and I'm in love with it! However, one of the details that caught my eye is the flooring down the hallway. Are they painted and if so what did you use?
tile on floor with black border. I am using a Calacutta polished marble behind range/hood to ceiling. What countertop material would you suggest? Would ceaserstone in organic white or misty Carrera work?

hopscotch pattern you have pictured above, you could even get REALLY creative, and rather using a 45 degree angle, as most angular floors are installed, do it at (approx.) a 27 degree angle, so that you get exactly the same cuts along each wall as shown in this set of pics from my company's facebook page:

This floor is a custom cut 6" x 24" natural Travertine 1/2" thick. Most distributors cary this color.

I like the color of the flooring. Travertine Marble Tile cut into planks and laid in a herringbone pattern.
