The stain is applied first, then glazed, and you can use paint grade plywood when applying most glazed finishes. The stained cabinets in this kitchen are made from alder plywood. I think for a traditional style kitchen that raised panel cabinet doors are more appropriate. Good luck

I love the windows in the sunroom and the folding doors to the space. Were they Edmonton-made or from a wider scale manufacturer? Also, is the sunroom a 3- or 4-season space? (Curious Canadians love knowing this stuff - especially with -40C a reality in winter).
Hi Jennifer, Tile baseboards are a great solution for easy maintenance. This tile was just cut down to the appropriate height. The cut edge faced down, and the factory edge on top for a smooth uniform finished look. Good luck!

the island is Caesarstone. The cantilevered, bar-height countertop is granite. New Mood Design designed it using steel brackets that were spaced appropriately to support the weight of the granite countertop. We worked closely with our countertop fabricator on the design.
