Vintage school map as a blind. Cool if it fits the kitchen window.
The kitchen is wide open to the dining area. A vintage school map depicting the territories of Native American tribes serves as an eclectic window covering. The chandelier is an inexpensive brass fixture that the owners spray painted white.

in a dining room off of this kitchen to go with the schoolhouse light?
There would be a 7 foot farm table off of the kitchen. I would like to model my new kitchen after this kitchen but need to make sure the dining room goes with it too. What color might the wall be in the dining room and walls that

The kitchen's surface-mounted light fixtures came from School House Electric with shades from Rejuvenation. The light fixture in the butler's pantry (see later in this post) also came from School House, and its vintage shade was found on the Internet from a dealer in Minnesota. The floor is a classic
We're not sure where a similar one might be found, this one was custom-designed for the home by Charlotte Cooney of Domestic Arts.

These linoleum tiles could add a theme for room. Too much for a small space? Would look great under cherry grand.

Wow! This looks like a map straight off the walls of an elementary school classroom. I am assuming that this is a vintage piece that was probably a lucky find. Take a look at our map-themed products on Houzz and see if any

oversize piece of art. It need not be precious to do the job; think topographical maps, vintage school charts and botanical illustrations. If you like what you see, you can further the look by pulling your room's paint colors from the art for a built-in color scheme.
Remember these roll-down hanging maps from elementary school? This one is enhanced by the butter yellow walls and the vintage-style pendant light.

My pendant light fixtures are very similiar. They are a rubbed bronze look. The photo was taken before the rest of my room was completed.. I'm so happy with how it's turning out. When we took the ceiling down I saw the beams and loved them. they were in very bad shape

My Phila kitchen is approx. the same size and I'm ready for a remodel. Couldn't remove my kitchen door, but would love to break through into adjoining dining room. Do you do long distance design?
I have an attic bedroom. It is narrow but long. It breaks up into two rooms. My main area is the smaller room area. I just can't find myself happy with it. Any ideas?
way you did this kitchen! It's beautiful. I especially like the pretty shelving unit outside the kitchen next to the front or back door- very nice design with function. Well done!!

Hamilton-Gray Design, San Diego, CA Once an adjacent passage, the re-designed space allowed for this convenient message center, which carries the same vintage style. White beadboard wainscoting is carried through the kitchen into the message center area.
Unfortunately it cannot. It was an heirloom the owners possessed at the time of the remodel and gave us the inspiration to design the message center around it.
Can we find room for this?
Idea for maybe kitchen or laundry room or somewhere
