The Burrys painted the walls and baseboards white to give the space a light and airy feel. The floor is covered in spruce, while the stairs are pine, and both have been treated with a wood stain. know the approximate square footage and the decision to put the fridge in the pantry. Was the fridge placed in the pantry for flow or just to increase space in the kitchen? Or is there another reason? it's a unique idea.
approximate square footage is between 45-50 sq ft. The decision to put the fridge in the pantry was for both flow and space in the kitchen intending to capitalize on entertaining space.
These wire basket units fixed to the wall are a great solution for little depth spaces. I also like pull out shelf/drawers ... much better than just shelfs that if deep always make the stuff behind unfindable.
The wire shelves have birch wood trim on the front edges. All of this is available at The Container Store where the in-store designers will do the space planning for free! www.containerstore.com

I don't think the layout works for our house, but I love the overall feel. Huge windows, bright, cozy, liveable space
Use color to differentiate spaces. In this open floor plan, the sky blue dining chairs clearly coordinate, yet delineate this space as being different from the family room area. The kitchen is given its own color in the island pendant lights and countertops. Notice the one color that's consistent throughout
throughout the three spaces is white. This keeps it modern and cohesive at the same time.
