Two flats in Presidio Heights
to know the name of the deck contractor, in SF?
I have a house in Golden Gate Heights in SF, and am interested in building a floating deck over my downstairs living room. Any suggestions or sources? Thank you.
We are building a floating deck that is about 16x25 ft
Do tiled decks like this feel as solid as standard decks?
wondering if we could pull off this square pattern design using a mix of repurposed and new wood? If so, how would we accomplish the design/building of this deck? Any and all advice is much appreciated.
That is the decking i would use!!

Cool concrete planters in wooden deck
Like concrete planters, square, with wood, bench or concrete deck
as a decking material. Cedar and redwood have a natural resistance to the elements. Pressure-treated decking is a soft wood that has been treated with chemicals to make it weather resistant. The arsenic that was used in the past is no longer used, but if you are looking for a chemical-free deck surface
Pattern from deck's quilted direction and raised beds are planted in crop rows mimicking the borrowed agricultural landscape in the distance. Beyond that native and "nativesque" plants mimic the dunes.
Rectilinear deck and boxes, undulating wild plants, rectilinear agricultural fields.
surface, avoid pressure-treated decking. There are alternatives, but the structure of most decks will be built with pressure-treated lumber.

Decking. A contractor friend of mine calls wood decks “dry rot in slow motion.” He’s pretty spot-on. Traditional wood decks, regardless of how much waterproofing sealant you apply each year, will eventually succumb to nature’s forces (or termites). But if you’ve got a sloping property, need a level surface
surface for outdoor entertaining and want to avoid the expense and disruption of building retaining walls, decking is the way to go. Since you’re not likely to add on to the deck once it’s built, now is the time to decide how it will be used and make space for all the furnishings you want.

Is this deck waterproofed? These doors just lead to outdoor storage area?
Do you have information on how the framing was done for the side of the deck?
Where did you get the doors for under the deck?
and color stain was used for the deck?
we cpuld put one or two of these under our deck for storage area.
Good Idea for underneath the deck
could we build storage/shed under the deck area?

Atherton Japanese Garden
Absolutely stunning. Can you please tell me what the decking material is? Thanks.
The decking is redwood, 4 x 4 dimensional size. We wanted to achieve an effect of a "floating" deck and therefore used the larger material. In this Japanese Garden, the gravel symbollically represents water, the boulders are islands. We wanted to provide the the symbollic illusion that the deck is
This is a stunning patio design. I love the cover, the varied deck levels, and the custom design that both complements and contrasts the house. I bet the owners spend many happy hours here.
Extension to the deck and the gravel ground cover - very asian.

management and raised decking over swale?
