Here, a spray painted chair and table sit in a bed of vinca. One of Elisabeth's recent projects was to drill holes in used paint cans, spray paint them bright colors and plant some of her favorite flowers in them.

corrosion of the substrate metal. Zinc can be applied at different thicknesses for more or less protection. Thickness is reflected in the price. Care must be taken in handling to avoid scratching the galvanized finish. Field cuts and drill holes require treatment with zinc-containing paint to repair the anti
I have a similar fence in the northwest. The metal is turned sideways. Yes, it will reflect heat in the summer. If you use new metal, you could wipe it down with muratic acid to take away the shine. Commonly used metal is applied. It is as wind resistant as any fence would be. No
love this fence but would like to know if the Corrugated metal is on top of a wooden fence or just on its own. I have a Wooden fence which must stay that I share with neighbors, but really want this look. So I want help in how to attach the Metal ( Or Fiberglass) to the fence. Am concerned about circulation

Heavy Metal
The metal screen folds up to create a solar shade on the south façade, and in some areas a reflecting pool mirrors the overhang in shape and size. Photography by Andrew Fabin
are they attached? Do they come with a finish such as enamel paint to protect them from rust? Where would one buy such metal screens? Who is the manufacturer? Thank you!
Using folding metal screens to provide variable amounts of shade is an Interesting idea. I would appreciate knowing: How/where exactly do the shades fold, and is it easy to unfold them on a regular basis? Do you need to use a ladder? How are
The perforated metal used here is an excellent choice for this application, because the shape, size and spacing of the openings can be customized and finely tuned based on a particular solar exposure. Because it’s made by punching holes from a thin sheet of metal, it’s

Sudbury House Renovation
Building new house and love the asphalt and metal roof color combo. Any info on brand and color? Thanks.
The asphalt shingles are a GAF architectural shingle in the Pewter grey color; the metal roofs are copper standing seam. Thank you for your interest!

maybe we'd do the metal roof on the back on both shed roofs only?

Manzanita Garden
I love this idea for a garden, very NW, but is it safe for vegetables? Will the metal contaminate the soil?
work that cor-ten would have been much more worth it. I then painted the back side with rust-preventing paint, patinaed the front so it would rust immediately, then applied a 2-part clear coat to protect it. Without the protection, the metal would fail in 3-5 years (and it was heavier gauge than this)
this and be protected, its worth it. (unless you're looking for a 3 year solution). I've never seen metal like this at a building store, look for a local "metal supply" or "metal fabricator." For metal patinaing solutions check out sculptnouveau.com

Do you treat the metal with any kind of chemicals?
Love the metal! For the shorter metal borders (4" high or so), is that something commercially available or do you have to create it each time?
Very nice - is the metal retaining wall very expensive or is it comparable with traditional material
maintenance, no painting required,” “In a quick glance, these Cor-Ten retaining walls resemble soil. All of the horizontality, emphasized by the Cort-Ten on the slope, beautifully blends the landscape and the Prairie-style house.”
