For this elegant landmarked Berkeley home, designed by Albert Dodge Coplin, we had the challenge of designing a garden that delicately blends Japanese and English style vernaculars at the request of the client.

A view of the final landscape as seen from the main road. A neatly manicured front island sets the scene with 3 american hornbeam trees, a tidy row of boxwood, a lush panel of lawn, and 2 stone piers to mark the entrance and exit.

This tudor style home regains its former glory. A mixture of ferns, astilbe, hydrangea, boxwood and viburnum (among others) will provide a lush understory in just a few weeks, accenting the mature oak trees.
