Wouldn't you love to meet the person who woke up one morning and said, "Today, I think I'll go make myself a flower bed?" I don't even have to meet them to know I'd like them
new meaning to the phrase "flower bed" doesn't it? Whimsy can sometimes be hard to define, but if you're like me, you know it when you see it. This is what whimsy on steroids looks like...and I LOVE it!
This arrangement brings new meaning to the term "flower bed." OK, it's a little punny, but it
this garden bed (in all senses of the phrase).Design tip: Although this appears casual, you will need to plan ahead to keep this look going. Beneath the mass of flowers is a solid, soil-filled enclosure between the posts of the bedframe. You'll also need to water consistently to keep the bed in bloom.

What are the dimensions for these beds, length ,depth and width?
How are you irrigating these beds? How is the water supply hidden?
agree. We have motion sensor sprinklers as well, but our deer have become used to them and now ignore them. We've had to build cages around our raised beds.
Nice looking raised beds, no wood to rot or be infested by bugs.

this looks like 2x8 boards for a 16" height, correct? 4x4 support on the outside with a 1x6 around the top, correct? Do you put the gravel under the planter bed for drainage
between the raised beds. It compacts into a hard surface, more difficult for weeds to penetrate. It has worked well so far and looks very nice.
Rob: Outstanding job with this project. I'm curious, what type of stain or oil did you use? This is by far our favorite raised bed example. We're copying
with a space for a compost if you do not have one and create your own or you can buy sand and mix potting soil and bagged compost and then fill the beds.
Assuming that's a bush squash and 2x12s for the raised beds, looks like about 3 feet. Like Rob said, make the paths big enough for your equipment, whatever that is.

Love the raises beds made of rocks.
RockConstructing raised beds from rock is a very easy DIY project for the average homeowner. Small boulders or large cobbles can be used, and they needn't be mortared in place, assuming your wall is fairly low (12 inches or less, still a respectable height for raised beds). The beds can be straight or curved
landscape style. This type of construction isn't permanent, but that can also be considered an asset if you decide to change the shape or location of your beds. Cost: If you already have rocks on your property, they're obviously free. If not, prepare to spend $85 a cubic yard and up. Rock is sold by the cubic
