Typically the washer door swings right (like on a house door the callout for right or left is determined by putting your back against the hinges with the door open. if the door is is on your right then it is a right hand swing) The dryer doors come left swing but in many cases you can reverse
reverse this, but only the dryer door. Soooo.... facing the units the doors swing like a set of french doors allowing you to stand between the doors and transfer the loads.
Moving the washer/dryer out of the kitchen into their own space was not a difficult decision. Meeting all of the programmatic requirements of this new room was a little trickier. Designing enough room to be able to wash the dogs and water houseplants, as well as folding laundry in a small space was solved by providing a removable countertop. When the counter is needed, the two pieces easily slide in place and they are pulled out of the way when the water is needed. When the dogs get a shower, the handspray...

Where do you find a star light fixture like that? It is beautiful.
Hi, Where do you find those amazing ceiling lights (not the star) - the LED's? Thank you!
Hi, they are the The LBL Lighting Bare Head Swivel I. If you click on "more info" underneath this picture, you'll get to this image's main page, which is tagged. When you hover your mouse over the picture, you'll see a green tag on the light that leads to more information. By the way
Laundry has never been such a luxury. This spacious laundry room has wall to wall built in cabinetry and plenty of counter space for sorting and folding. And laundry will never be a bore thanks to the built in flat panel television.

Not very practical, no folding space to the right of the drawer and you would need a left hand swing. No place to hang to dry

Hide in plain sight with frosted glass doors. Replacing a laundry room, pantry or kitchen door with a frosted-glass version will increase natural light but (most important) keep those laundry piles and dirty dishes hidden.

how high countertops should be, where to place the sink, how deep cabinets should be and how much room to leave so that the washer-dryer doors can swing open and allow room for people to pass by. Just because these rooms are utilitarian, they don’t need to have a stripped-down look; Randel also shows

how do you do the lighting under cabinets?
love the lighting under the cabinets. How is that done?
One of the best ways to do under-cabinet lighting is to use LED light strips. These are thin strips that get mounted to the bottom, rear-bottom, or front-bottom of the wall cabinets that can give off excellent and even lighting along the wall and countertops. They can last for tens of

toddler when I began to scheme how I could delegate laundry. We didn't have room in our budget for a cleaning service, so I didn't know how I could swing offloading my laundry, but I was desperate. Of all the endless tasks of home keeping, laundry is the worst: so many steps and it never, ever ends. And
We wanted to accommodate and reflect the homeowner's lifestyle and the house’s style but get rid of the out-dated suburban lay-out while enlarging the true living space, psychologically & physically, within the existing space & budget. The owners originally considered an addition, and when the designer proposed that the two young, active Nike employees sacrifice the seldom used formal dining to the solution, they were quick to see they could “just do it”!
