for a very inexpensive solution to cover/protect the surface of my new washer and dryer. It's a front loader like pictured here and I would love to use the top as counter space. Any suggestion? I do have cabinets above so i just need some suggestions to make the top into a countertop. Thanks, any and
washer hose can flood your house in a minute, so make sure you are using braided stainless steel reinforced hoses. !!!!!!
use bottom pan to retain any water spills from washer
it should be installed in a pan with a drain, as shown in this picture. Better yet, tile the floor and have a floor drain installed. This way you'll be ready for any floods and you can mop the floor right into the drain.".

Did you use a shower pan under the washer and dryer? If so is there a drain?
Is that a special pan that I can buy at HD et al? Just curious as my current washer leaks
how is the washer and dryer cabinet made? What materials are used?
I used cabinet material from the cabinet company and built it up on metal pans that are covered. Its a lot of parts and pieces
When you say the pans are covered, what are they covered with?

Is the drain pan for the washer recessed into the floor?
Thank you for your quick response. A great idea, you never know when something can leak. I have only seen these pans for water heaters.

The hookup is behind the washer recessed into the typical wall box used in laundry rooms
Where is the faucet for the washer hidden. I like to turn water off after using washer as leaving the water on all of the time can wear out the hoses and cause a leak

It's a washing machine tray or pan that's a second level of protection against flooding. Often times you see them used in 2nd floor laundry rooms. They're typically connected to a drain as well.

synthetic enamel. This finish can be damaged by exposure to solutions like ammonia, chlorine bleach or any abrasive cleaners. 4. Protect the finish. If you use the top of your washing machine as a work surface, lay a folded towel on top to protect its finish. This is especially helpful when you treat stains,

one is for under-wears , sock , etc for daily use , mostly configured on economic usage of supplies and water the other one for other clothes . it may also be used for separating the colorful fabrics from other ones
I like the simple countertop over the washer and dryer. Drip pans under each is very smart. I just worry about keeping pans clean.

I have a very small laundry room, more like a closet. How could I make my door more useful to contain my detergent?
It is on the Second Level and we installed a "disaster pan" which is in case of a flood and that in installed level and then with the appliances also being leveled, there has been no issue of noise of vibration
about access to the rear of the units so you can hook them up 4) get a structural engineer and have them OK altering the joists below so a disaster pan that collects flooding water into a drain can be installed flush with the floor 5) a washer hose that breaks in an unfinished basement isn't a big deal
It wasn't quite that easy in reality because they barely fit in the closet and there is a stainless steel disaster pan under that would stop a leak from ruining the main floor. It is a great space saver.
