Love the cornices! Is there a rule of thumb regarding size of cornice and window measurement?
determine the size...but in most things, I will sit and visualize and in some instances even make mock ups of different ideas to see how they look.... The distance from the ceiling along with the crown above; the depth of the valance and the size of the cornice will all have to be balanced....I find my best
settle on the best visual impact.....does that make sense? Joy in the journey so to speak.....
The cornice boards with the iron pieces
I love this whole look, especially the window box treatments.

you got the rug or the manufacturer? Thanks
Hello, I really like the lighting above your dining table. Can you please tell me where you purchased it from?
What product was used on the ceiling and can it also be used outdoors? Thank you
sure of the details for the rug but glad you like it! Jeff / Jeannette Architects
Hi there! I'm quite sorry but I don't know that information. Our Client has since sold the home. If you email me off our website at www.jeannettearchitects.com I can send you a higher resolution image for your search
Ealpet, The ceiling is 1x4 Tongue & Groove spruce. Don't use Pine when you're planning to paint it out white - the oils in the knots bleed through and leave stains. I hope that helps... thanks for asking! Jeff - Jeannette Architects.
exactly the shade of your current parquet finish, but the driftwood grey on the walls and carpet here offers a rather handsome contrast. Hate to suggest re-painting, but may be lesser of 2 evils. If you decide to go all parquet, I think re-painting walls to a more crisp clean cool (as opposed to warm)
Love the lamp in the corner and the openness.
Like the window at the top
Rug defines area in this seating, we can use that in the living room
Now the adults can retire to the living room for peace and quiet while the kids use the new family room, allowing for some separation between the generations — something Klopf says is essential to consider in an open-plan house like this.
'cable' style ceiling supporting or holding in the sides of the room so possible weight on ceiling won't 'spread' the room? Sometimes large expansions, w/o middle post etc need support.
Love the rug!! Who makes it?
Love the floor lamps! Who makes
What are the poles across the ceiling for?
