Hi. Our room is somewhat similar but with low ceilings. Love the lights. Would you recommend bulbs inside can or flush with ceiling? Thank you.

nailheads, and stunning glass side tables contrast with the more subtle jute rug. When the client first started working with Larkin, she wanted her entire home designed — paint, wallpaper, furniture and accessories. It's taken several years, but they've almost finished every room.Mirrors: Crate & Barrel

We've been thinking of doing something very similar - suspending a stone slab over the cooktop in the kitchen and having lights embedded in it. As an architectural firm, have you ever heard of anyone doing this? We're stuck on the actual logistics.
the lights are outside of the drop ceiling
I love the suspended panel. However I wouldn't hang pendants down, I would up light it between the panel and the ceiling. Provides ambient light, a closer ceiling for coziness, and a visual separation of one area in an open room concept design.
Suspended - Pros: look different, neat. The light would be nice, depends how and where you place the lights. Cons: Can be distracting, cost is probably pretty high. What type of room or building would you find this type of ceiling
