right if I build in shelves on the left will that look lopsided?
We're building in Wilmington NC. Instead of recessing the fireplace, how would it look to recess the side cabinets? Any suggestions?
with our build-ins - we have exactly same layout with fireplace etc. You're beautiful design has solved all the problems and allowed me to "see" what I had been trying to communicate to our contractor and architect - I figured somehow the curtains would disguise the issue of the cabinets in front of the
room, build a false wall for the back of the bookcases to start. Unless you have an unusually deep room and need to bring the length down, I wouldn't suggest this kind of set up. The cabinets are 24" deep. Hope that helps, Lorraine
