The trim complements the interior palette, which oscillates between the cool steel, stone and concrete, and the warm Douglas fir, and highlights the thickness

Wherer can i buy the fir wood...store name............. ??????? TKS.
Hi, Thanks for you interest, this was all custom, the strips were cut down from standard 2x4 doug fir, the panels are all hand selected veneers. all are superior grade vertical grain. you have to buy these at a specialty finish lumber and veneer supplier. Your cabinet maker should know where to go.
Hi, Thanks for your interest, that is douglas fir. Thanks, Patrick

the info. (I also picked vertical grain doug fir for all my doors in a recent whole-house remodel, and we're very happy with the results. Your door looks familiar, so I asked. I chose Inox Crescent 311 door levers with circular petals, and Inox stainless steel hinges. Also satin chrome, as yours. I picked
100% clueless about any construction, so I had no idea about any wood types, nor did I know doug fir is an option for cabinets. Happy winter. :)

Can you please tell me how the windows function? Do they all open or only the top row? I assume they swing toward the outside, correct? Which company made them? Thanks!
thanks for your interest, that is Douglas fir. Best, Patrick
Hi, Thanks for your interest, the top and bottom rows operate with the middle fixed. The are awning type windows from Marvin that do open to the outside, there are tilt turn European style windows that do open to the inside. Best, Patrick

Lots of natural light via floor to ceiling windows.
Love the windows and the reclaimed wood. Very peaceful
The windows and the rough hewn wood posts
me a tad doubtful: the wood columns are quite different than the steel predominantly used with glass-box houses. Nevertheless, the wood is exposed structure, just like in modern houses by Mies van der Rohe and others with exposed steel, so I'm keeping it in the modern category.

Thank you for your comment. These railings were custom designed and fabricated, they are solid stock stainless steel. The handrail is laminated doug fir to match the exposed structure in the atrium.
fabricated by Skyhook Metal Designs in San Diego. They are all stainless steel with a Doug Fir laminated handrail. Thank you for the question, we're glad you like them. These were not prefabricated or store bought.
