currently have vertical blinds with long rods to facilitate opening and closing, I want to replace the blinds with another type of dressing but I am at a loss for ideas. Any suggestions? It would be convenient if I could control the window dresing remotely. Thank you.
Just kidding! I know how you feel about Venitian blinds. Wondering though what you think of the wood slated Venitian blinds like this.

are these sheer panels or vertical blinds. moving in to a condo that has huge windows/sliders & everything has vertical blinds. not in my budget to replace them, so thinking of either painting or putting sheers over them????? any help would be great.

I would rather see you use the white linen-look fabric than a sheer. You'll still get natural light but people won't be able to see in. I recommend you have a couple of lamps (table lamps or floor lamps) near the drapes, so that no shadowy
of the verticals would be fabulous but expensive. i do like ikat fabrics but i'm not sure if that would be too much in this open dining/living room. the berber carpeted room is 18' x 22', with a sliding door that goes out to a lanai, one 8' window that overlooks green space and another 4' window. i
