Clad a large load bearing column in stone
Clad a large column in stone. The imposing presence of the masonry column here reminds you of its purpose, while at the same time introducing a tactile material that contrasts with the rest of the soft interior. This could be a good idea for bringing some of the material from the home’s exterior inside.

When constructing the fireplace, which got finished first - the stone work, or the ceiling?
Who is the manufacturer of this stone?
We have a house in NH and are designing a fireplace surround. I love this stone and design. Who is the supplier of the stone? And the color? I don't see any grout lines, how is this achieved?
Good question; for this project the ceiling was installed before the 6" stone veneer was built-up to it. This was deemed much easier and cleaner than trying to scribe the ceiling to the stone.
