The fireplace is a Heat & Glo with a natural stone surround similar to Pennsylvania blue stone.
Our living area should look like this in reverse... I like the shelving leading up to the fireplace-- I would have windows high above these in our house. also the fireplace with the space for showing artwork above. the double french doors to outside.

timeless, classic look. I like to think that the painting over the sofa was the loved piece that dictated the design. But make no mistake, other tools have been skillfully employed here, like the repetition of the soft green color of the painting in the curtains and the chair cushions. First tool:
