amber1960, you may want to consider TVCoverUps. Framed art(including your own) or mirror adds to the room's decor with the hidden TV & Entertainment Consoles beneath. See how EASY it really is: http://youtu.be/05bwMqaAS5Y

Where do you keep/hide the tv components? We have a similar setup. Thank you.
would be TVCoverUps. Framed Artwork or panel provides the focal point and adds to the room's decor, until it swings upward to reveal the hidden TV. It comes in automatic and manual units and also allows for TV tilting hardware. Each unit is custom to the viewer and the space, so it is always best to give
and I'm trying to determine where a good place to shelve the the blue ray player, cable box, vhs, etc. I'll assume there is a wall outlet behind your tv to provide the power and a HDMI cable hole. Thanks again.
Where did you hide the TV components? DVD ? Dvr hook ups?

Beautiful. How do you handle the heat of the fireplace with the TV above? Is this is a faux fireplace without a chimney?
worried about TV height, do a google search for comfort VU and it should solve your problem.

TV above fireplace and cupboards either side

Is that picture frame where the tv is placed?
Isn't fire place going too hot for the TV? what type of all is this?
fireplace (Isokern) the heat isn't much of an issue as long as you have a decent sized stone mantel. I'd say at least 12", it also helps to recess the TV in the wall above.
Thank you for your comment. This is a recess in the wall with casework surrounding the TV.
