Great lighting for a basement, where did you find those fixtures?
Does the lack of insulation in the exposed beam ceiling have a negative impact on the heating bill or floor warmth upstairs?
and the height of the pendant lights? They don't seem intrusive. Please, who is the manufacturer?
We r remodeling a basement now. I would love to paint our basement open rafter ceiling white like yours. R u happy with it? We have can lights & the visible romex as well. Feel like my contractor kinda wants to talk me out of it. I don't care for the bottom-less pit visual of painting it black tho.
Thanks, that's good to know. Our basement ceiling isn't insulated, and sometimes the wood floors upstairs can be chilly - especially this winter! We have dropped ceilings in our basement, and they are barely at 8 feet, so your solution seems an appealing and

low, horizontal furniture + floor to ceiling windows minimize feel of low ceilings
Install these lights to make the ceiling look higher.
To make low-ceiling room look bigger, Choose low, horizontal furniture. Keep everything hunkered down low. If you are fortunate enough
1. Choose low, horizontal furniture. Keep everything hunkered down low. If you are fortunate enough to have a spectacular view like this, it will amplify the effect dramatically. If you don't have a great view, low furniture will still maximize the perceived height of your room.2. Use wide expanses of
of glass and keep window coverings simple. Notice how connected this space feels to the garden? Seeing the voluminous outdoor space makes this low-slung living room feel equally spacious. This trick works especially well if you're right at ground level.

What are the materials used for the coffered ceiling?
Can you please give the source of the ceiling fan?

Tip: If your budget doesn't stretch to an elaborate coffered ceiling, use a simpler strapping like the one in this living room. The variety of plaster and wood on the market today can help you achieve amazing results. You can also paint the strapping before it's installed for a custom color treatment
