is the kitchen I've been looking for!
dense stone. Small nick can be quickly buffed out with a bit of sandpaper. Most "scratches" on a soapstone counter are actually just scratches into the oil or wax, and can be erased by using a rag to reapply the soapstone mineral oil. @camden, I love this kitchen. Great choice of materials and colors
ht my kitchen designer would follow up...its a terra cotta--it was in the house when we bought it. If you get terra cotta make sure you seal it. The paint is a gold-brown Benjamin Moore.
It's soap stone. Not sealed or honed. We never apply oil either. It does scratch and chip but I only think
in the kitchen--it still looks great but it wasn't initially sealed and the color would bleed out if it came in contact with water. We've since sealed it and it looks great "warts and all."

What is the color name of the trav backsplash? Can you share the name of the wall paint/ store? Beautiful kitchen!
of the stone and the possibility of staining and acid etching. Do you have any experience or feedback that you could share? I love the look, but I am now fearful that the marble will not hold up over time.
The stone was polished marble that is a variation on crema marfil.
The tile floor is a tumbled travertine in a custom layout, the countertops are a light emprador marble, the kitchen island is taupe. Thanks for being in touch! CHRISTOPHER GAONA DESIGN STUDIO
liked the kitchen. The backsplash is a travertine mosaic from Walker Zanger.
in the stone hood (over the stove). There are some specialty lights installed above the cabinets to give a little glow to the top of the wall. Hope that helps!
The light in this kitchen is phenomenal--even with the dark wood cabinets. May I know if the recessed fixtures sun lights or electric lights
in this kitchen is from the window above the sink, which you can see. We installed all the other lighting. There are can lights throughout the kitchen (especially in the center of the wheel-like design on the ceiling), under cabinet lights are installed under each of the upper cabinets, and there is
addition kitchen instead of breakfast nook corner.
