In a contemporary design, with floors and beams in 2 different wood species (bamboo and pine), how do you pick the stain colors?
(it is in storage), but I can tell you that it was a nail down application (with subflooring) and an applied stain finish.
stained in a very similar hue. But these are organic elements, and just like out in nature, they never have to match. They just need to be pleasing to the eye, so put some stain color swatches next to each other and choose what appeals to you, and experiment on some wood samples of each species.

Light floors in kitchen to dark hardwoods in living room. We could do that in our house.
